die dame — Magazine

Art Direction in collaboration with Ingo Maak and Max Riedel for the winter issue 2019 of die dame. Die dame, established in 1912, was the first illustrated magazine in Germany to cater to the interests of modern women. In 2017, die dame was published for the first time as a new edition of the historical magazine by Axel Springer Berlin and has been published twice a year since then. Its editor is the entrepreneur and art collector Christian Boros. In each issue there are collaborations with artists such as Thomas Ruff, Martin Eder, Elizabeth Peyton, Tracey Emin, Zanele Muholi, Alicja Kwade, Patti Smith and Jenny Holzer.

This issue delves into the theme of freedom. While the magazine adheres to certain boundaries regarding typography choices, the design decision was to break free from constraints and adopt a more free and unrestricted approach.

This project was developed at Boros Agency in Berlin.
